Good Burger 2 Releases the First Teaser for the Paramount+ Sequel Starring Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell

The first teaser for “Good Burger 2” has been revealed by Paramount+.

The sequel to the Nickelodeon classic is set to premiere on Paramount+ this fall. The film’s official history states, “Follows Dexter Reed (Kenan Thompson) and original cashier Ed (Kel Mitchell) as they reunite in present-day fast-food joint Good Burger with a hilarious new group of employees.”

was the movie It was originally announced in March. Besides Thompson and Mitchell, the sequel’s cast includes Lil Real Howery, Gillian Bell, Kamaya Fairburn, Alex R. Hebert, Fabrizio Guido, Elizabeth Hinkler and Emily Hinkler as Cindy and Mindy, and Annabelle Graetz as Ruth. The film will also feature the original Good Burger cast members Josh Server, Laurie Beth Denberg, and Carmen Electra.

Nickelodeon Studios is producing the movie. Kevin Copello and Heath Seifert, who co-wrote the original film and worked on All That, serve as writers and executive producers on the sequel. James III is also a writer on the film. Phil Traill serves as the director. It will be produced by Nickelodeon Studios. Thompson and Mitchell are producers, while John Ryan Jr. of Artists for Artists serves as executive producer. The film is being produced for Nickelodeon Studios by Shawna Phelan and Zack Olin, Co-Presidents of Nickelodeon & Awesomeness Live-Action. Brittany Cobb serves as the Executive Director of Production at Nickelodeon.

“Good Burger” originated as a sketch on the Nickelodeon series “All That” in which Mitchell played Ed. It was then made into a movie in 1997. It proved to be a box office hit, grossing just under $24 million against an advertised budget of $8 million. It’s continued to be a cult following, with Mitchell and Thompson reuniting for a “Good Burger” sketch on “The Tonight Show” in 2015, and later announcing over the years that they’re open to a new iteration of the movie. Mitchell also appeared as Ed in the “All That” revival series in 2019.
